Born: August 28, 1960 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
High School: Graduated from Menomonie (Wis.) High School, 1979.
College: Graduated from Brown Institute in Minneapolis, 1985.

Beighley moved to Devils Lake out of college. He was hired at radio station KDLR in 1985, moved to KZZY in 1986 and became the station's sports director in 1988. He was recipient of the state sportscaster of the year award in 1994 and 2002. Beighley was inducted into the Lake Region State College Hall of Fame in 2003. While attending college out of high school, he served as an assistant basketball coach at a nearby junior college.
