    Born: April 23, 1947 in Rugby, N.D.
    High School: Graduated from Wolford (N.D.) High School, 1965.
    College: Graduated from University of North Dakota, 1969.

    Nobody has won the North Dakota sportscaster of the year award more than Halvorson. He was named recipient six times (1977, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1991, 1996). He worked at Devils Lake KDLR Radio (1971-82) and Williston KEYZ Radio (1982-98), then broadcast Williston State College athletics from 1998-2014. The broadcast booth at Williston State in 2012 was named Lee Halvorson Broadcast Booth in his honor. He was recipient of the North Dakota High School Activities Association Distinguished Service award in 1995. Halvorson is a U.S. Army veteran. Lee and Les Halvorson are the only siblings in the NDAPSSA hall of fame.
