Duaine Sanden

Born: March 22, 1945 in Grand Forks.
Died: June 16, 2019 in Grand Forks, age 74.
High School: Graduated from Grand Forks Central, 1963.
Sanden began working at a Grand Forks radio station as a 13-year-old in 1959, the start of a broadcast career that spanned six decades. Sanden started doing play-by-play coverage of high school sports in the mid-1960s. He was the 2019 recipient of the Pioneers in Broadcasting Award from the North Dakota Broadcasters Association. He was inducted into the North Dakota Association of Fairs Hall of Fame in 2016. He's also a member of the Grand Forks River Cities Speedway and Grand Forks Central High School athletic halls of fame. Sanden served in the United States Air Force Reserve from 1965 until 1998.
