Born: April 17, 1954 in Valley City.
Died: June 29, 1996 in Minneapolis, age 42.
High School: Graduated from Bismarck High School, 1972.
College: Graduated from University of North Dakota, 1976.McCabe was a veteran sports journalist in radio, television and newspapers. He served as sports director at KNOX radio and WDAZ television in Grand Forks, Jamestown radio station KEYJ and KXMB-TV in Bismarck. McCabe also wrote sports for newspapers in Jamestown, Fargo, Bismarck and Grand Forks. McCabe was an assistant scout for two summers with the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau in the Dakotas and also spent two summers as a general manager of a semi-pro baseball team in Bismarck . He sang in a barbershop quartet.
