    Born: August 31, 1956 in Powell, WY.
    High School: Graduated from Powell (WY) High School, 1975.
    College: Graduated from Minneapolis Brown Institute, May 1978.

    Dougherty started his radio career at KNDC in Hettinger, N.D., in May 1978. After five years at Hettinger, he had short stints at Kingman, Ariz., and Minot. He joined KQLX Radio in Lisbon in June 1985 and remained at the station until May 2009. After 24 years at KQLX, Dougherty left the station for a radio job in Casper, WY., in 2009. He retired in June 2013. Dougherty broadcast approximately 3,500-plus games during his career, covering primarily Class B high school sports in southeast North Dakota. He was a long-time Region 1 representative in the Class B all-state selection process. Dougherty is a member of the Lisbon Public Schools Hall of Fame. He became a pickleball enthusiast after retiring.
