Died: August 22, 1996 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, age 42.
High School: Graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, 1971.
College: Graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, in 1975.

After working at papers in Iowa and Minnesota, Osmundson joined the Fargo Forum sports staff in 1982 and remained at the Forum for the remainder of his career. Osmundson won the Mike Augustin Award in recognition for his contributions to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) athletic programs, as chosen by the conference's athletic directors. Osmundson played baseball while attending Luther College.
