Born: April 5, 1931 in Bismarck.
Died: March 10, 2001 in New Salem, N.D., age 69.
High School: Graduated from Bismarck St. Mary's, 1949.
College: Attended Minot State College.
Becker worked as a sports announcer at Bismarck radio stations from 1954 until 1993. He was named North Dakota sportscaster of the year in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954, having been stationed in Japan and Korea. In 1989, he was inducted into the North Dakota American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame.
